ArcGIS Location Platform new features, updates, improvements, and bug fixes included in the June 2025 release.
New features
- Snap to roads routing service: snap a series of GPS track points to the underlying roads.
- New open basemaps styles, based on the Overture maps project, includes a curated and integrated collection of open data from OpenStreetMap and many other sources.
- New ArcGIS Location Platform status dashboard displaying service status and any service disruption for all ArcGIS Location Platform services https://status.location.arcgis.com.
Updates
- Places service category ID update. Categories from previous releases are no longer accepted, only new categories are now accepted. For example, former category ID 13000 (Dining and Drinking) will now be 63be6904847c3692a84b9bb5.
- ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Service Update: Retirement of SIC codes and Esri demographic data update.
- OpenStreetMap (OSM) basemap styles are deprecated, replaced by the new open basemaps styles.
- API key (legacy) deprecation has been announced for June 2026, to be replaced with API keys. See API key (legacy) retirement for details.
Bug fixes
- Several small bug fixes.
