Learn how to use the usage page to monitor usage of ArcGIS Location Platform services, such as places, geocoding, routing, and others. Additionally, this tool displays usage statistics for hosted data such as feature data, files, map tiles, vector tiles, and scene services within ArcGIS.
The usage page breaks down usage by service type, illustrating usage trends over time. This breakdown enables you to precisely track where your resources are allocated and identify areas that may require optimization or attention. On this page, you will find a list of services, offering the flexibility to display either all available services or filter the list of services to those with or without usage, by date ranges, by specific developer credentials, or data services. You can expand the usage details for each service as required, providing deeper insights into their usage patterns.
Date range filter
Use the date range filter to define the range of dates you want to use to review service usage. The options are:
Current billing cycle: consider usage from the first day of the billing cycle up to and including today. Note that for today, not all service usage may be recorded until the conclusion of the billing day as each service has different recording and logging procedures and may not be immediately reflected in your usage graph.
Last 30 days: review usage recorded in the past 30 days up to today.
Last 60 days: review usage recorded in the past 60 days up to today.
Custom date range: when you select a custom date range you enter the first day and the last day to consider for usage activity. The maximum range of dates cannot exceed 60 days.
All services
All services displays a list of all ArcGIS Location Platform services and hosted data storage recorded to your account (across all your developer credentials and other usage metered to your logged in user), along with their respective usage metrics. You can filter the list of displayed service usage by type of usage (show all services, show only services with recorded usage, or show only services without recorded usage) and billing cycle date range filters.
Developer credentials
You can select a specific developer credential (API keys and OAuth applications) to review service usage recorded to that credential. A list of available developer credentials appears in the left-side panel. You can filter this list based on various criteria including tags, type of credential, or a search phrase checked against the item name and title. The credential list can also be sorted alphabetically or by last modified date.
Once you select a specific credential from the list, the item information appears along with the service usage graph. The data shown is filtered by the date range you selected. Each item can be expanded to display a calendar where you see each date usage was recorded. The amount of usage appears in the table, and you can roll-over a spark-line dot or the calendar date to view the exact amount of usage recorded on that day.
In the item details panel there are two buttons:
- Manage credential will navigate to the portal item page where you can update the item meta data and credential properties.
- Download CSV to download a CSV file containing the usage data shown in the usage graph.
You can alter the date range for the usage graph by selecting the desired date range in the drop-list control near the top of the page. Current billing cycle, Previous billing cycle, and the list of Previous billing periods are all aligned to your billing start date to match the given billing period. The Custom date range option will prompt for a start and end date. This date range cannot exceed 60 days.
You can also generate a single CSV report that includes all your developer credentials that have recorded usage in a request billing period or date range. To do this, click on the Create report button near the top-right area of the page. A modal dialog appears prompting you for the time period you wish to report on and the file name for your report.
Layers and data services
The Layers and data services tab display a list of your hosted data types such as feature layer, tile layer, and scene layer. Usage for these services are recorded as query and edit bandwidth in bytes. A list of available services appears in the left-side panel. You can filter this list based on various criteria including tags, type of service, or a search phrase checked against the item name and title. The service list can also be sorted alphabetically or by last modified date.
